DESCRIPTION

Among his kin Bloodhunter stands out, because while he is tall like most males of the clan, he is much darker in colouring, having dark hair and a shade fo skin a tad more olive than the rest of them. His eyes are not the typical sea-green dawnrunner eyes but a cold, hard blue.

His second shape is the melanistic Jaguar nicknamed: Bloodhunter, which has all marks of a typical dawnrunner.

IDENTITY

Bloodhunter is rarely called by his given first name. When he went to the cave of the golden rose, and embraced her gift without reservation he became Bloodhunter. Tall like his father, but darker in coloring, Bloodhunter is considered the darkest character of the Clan. Bloodhunter is neither deliberately cruel nor mean, in fact in everyday life he can even be quite affectionate. It does not change the fact, that he is most ruthless of warriors. If something is necessary, he will do it, no matter how brutal, no matter how cruel. When faced with a living and breathing foe, he has no compunction to exploit whatever weakness that person has, love, children, secrets, it all is a weapon in the right hands. Most of all, Bloodhunter understands that fear is a weapon too, and effectively used can scare the wits out of most living foes.

While Bloodhunter and Nighthunter often see not eye to eye, Bloodhunter is fiercely protective of his clan, especially of his siblings, he makes no difference between siblings by birth or siblings adopted.

Bloodhunter lost his twin Bloodsinger (Kurán of Dawnrunner Clan) to the war against Guramar. His twin's loss left a deep scar on him, deeper than he cares to admit, it may well be one of the reasons why he linked even closer with Khadair. Having to kill Khadair at the end of the civil war, left another emotional scar, and made Bloodhunter even more protective of those he cares about.

BASIC SKILLS

Weapons: Prefers straight blades (sword, dagger), bow and spear.

Hand to Hand: when fighting hand to hand Bloodhunter will make use of both shapes.

Other weapons: garotte, throwing knives

Bloodhunter is a strong and very lethal fighter, while he is considered a swordsman stronger than his father, his true strength shows, when he is not duelling but hunting. Stalking prey, weeding out superior numbers one by one, is his specialty. He does not shy away from direct confrontation, when necessary.

Running: fast runner, high endurance, in both forms.

Climbing: good in human shape, excellent in cat form

Swimming: excellent swimmer, even in cat form

Riding: mediocre horseman. He is good with horses and can calm them, talk to them and take care of them to a degree that would befit a stable master, but he is averse to riding horses, preferring to run on his own four paws.

Survival: absolutely at home in the northern wilds, excellent survivor.

Education: basic. Can read, write and do basic math, has some deeper knowledge in plant lore (healing and eating), but otherwise relies on his younger brother Alaric when topics of education are concerned.

Handiwork: Bloodhunter is very skilled with his hands, good at woodwork, decent at basic stonework, and always finding something to work on, be it building a fence, digging a well, carving toys for kids. His family sometimes jokes, that the must be some unknown dwarrow ancestor in his line.

MAGIC

Like all Wyr Darek has a second form, in his case the clan form of the melanistic jaguar. His form is a bit larger than that of his father's and more muscular as well.

The Golden Rose changed Darek deeply, this is the place where he truly became Bloodhunter, his senses hightened, his endurance and pain tolerance raised, among other things. Bloodhunter is often pointed to as an example what the Golden Rose could make of Wyr who fully embraced it (with the slight question of whether or not he will go crazy one day.)

The Dragon Song: Bloodhunter can hear the dragonsong, and the mindvoice of the dragons. In moments of danger he will respond in kind, and his mindvoice clearly audible to the dragons. Otherwise he denies that the songs he hears in the darkness have anything to do with the talent of the Morrighan. “I can smell darkness, I can sense a beating heart within a mile radius… why should I not hear the night sing?"

RELATIONSHIPS

Close ties to his clan, otherwise he's only had flings that never were meant to last. No intentoin of building his own lair.

The Council makes use of Bloodhunters specific skill set, whenever it is becomes necessary to scare an opponent away from the landbridge, or keep particularly nasty parties from becoming too curious at all. While Bloodhunter and Nighthunter often see not eye to eye, Bloodhunter is fiercely protective of his clan, especially of his siblings, he makes no difference between siblings by birth or siblings adopted.

When close to dragons, Bloodhunter does hear faint melodies, songs, that even penetrate his dreams, he does fiercely deny that this has anything to do with the dragon song. “I can smell darkness, I can sense a beating heart within a mile radius… why should I not hear the night sing?"
